Avatar Review
Director James Camerons longawaited Avatar paints an alien race with a delicacy for bows and bolt, but keeps the 3D jutting clichés under control. Even when bloody arrowheads stick out at your face, Cameron covers the stunts dont disperse from his spiritual story.
The 3D effect will escort you in the jungle and you would be able to see characters face by face on corridors. There are humanoid alien characters like Navi, which has big catlike eyes that looks perfect on their tall blue bodies. Script is full of twists and turns. Here you can have summay of the movie.
The story is of Jake Sully, performed by Sam Worthington, of the year of 2154 where Jake Sully, a marine, looses his legs in a battle. Jakes twin brother who had to leave for a project on Pandora, a distant moon, dies unexpectedly and the authorities of the mission offer Jake his brothers place as the project requires a DNA match.
Jake accepts the offer just because he knows that by this he would be able to walk again on his feet and he would be able to pay off surgery expenses. Avatar is the body of tall, blue Pandora natives known as Navi. He travels to Pandora but Dr. Grace Augustine, head of the project, is not happy he does not want to send an inexperienced person on the most important project of her life.
There is a love story brewing between Sams Navi avatar with the Pandora princess (Zo Saldana) and soon he discovers an altogether new world. Literally. He wages a battle of his own with support from a handful of friends from sky people along with tribe members and animals belonging to all shapes and sizes.
The story conveys that Cameron is a big fan of Bollywood films from the 60s and the 70s. Just like his last effort ‘Titanic’ which was as Bollywood as it gets, even ‘Avatar’ has quite a few Hindi film references if one starts plotting them on paper.
After watching ‘Avatar’, the question of paramount importance iswhat does one pick and what is it that should be left behind the experience that goes by the name of ‘Avatar’?
Early Footage: Although it was fun to see early footage of the film a few months ago, it screws you over in the long run. The first 45 minutes of the film is all about being in awe of the environment. Its about reacting to everything around you, for the people who have seen the footage the experience isnt fresh and therefore it doesnt carry you as much as it should. For those of you who have abstained from any footage, youll soon be rewarded.
